It’s a veritable museum with photographs of the station in it’s heyday, railway and other memorabilia.

Friendly staff, a marvellous ever changing range of 8 real ales (over 7000 different so far) , draught farm cider, along with Belgium and other foreign bottled beers, will please the most discerning drinker.

Cheap old fashioned snacks such as tasty black peas and sandwiches along with daily specials, homemade pie and peas, bacon casserole and all day breakfast are available.

Freshly made coffee and tea by the pot are also on offer. Eat in the bar or the conservatory and sit out on the platform on a sunny day.

It’s well worth waiting for another train!

The blue plaque was unveiled on 16th July 1994 by Cllr Eileen Shorrock and is sited within the Buffet Bar. It celebrates a unique building which dates from the late Victorian era and serves as a reminder of a time when the railways brought prosperity to the town of Stalybridge.
